Amidst very good barley farmland the distillery found an ideal place to produce whisky.  The Glen Ord Maltings supply many Diageo distilleries with malt like Talisker Distillery.  The maltingas lie just next to Glen Ord Distillery near the town of Muir of Ord.

In 1961 the floor maltings were replaced by a Saladin box, in 1968 there was another drum malting added. The Saladin box was disposed in 1983, today there are only drum maltings.

There is no public admittance.
