The Three Stills

 
 

There are plans to build a whisky distillery in the Borders at Hawick, once a textile production centre.


The Three Stills Company (TTSC), formed by four former executives of William Grant & Sons (Glenfiddich), are submitting plans to develop the distillery in a former industrial estate at Commericial Road in Hawick by 2016.


The former managers George Tait, John Fordyce, Tim Carton and Tony Roberts hope to start distilling in 2017. The Duke of Buccleuch and the Edinburgh based investment company Badenoch & Co. are supportung the project.

The are planning to distil a lighter and more aromatic whisky than in the Speyside, a Lowland style.
