Auchroisk        the ford of the red stream

The modern distillery was established in 1974. Auchroisk Single Malt  was sold as a The Singleton of Auchroisk  (1986) and within the Flora and Fauna series (2001). Auchroisk is pronounced oh-thrusk. It is a bulk producer distilling about 5,9 million litres per year.

On site there is a cask filling store for the Diageo‘s spirits. The ten giant bonded warehouses have got a capacity of about 270.000 casks which are not only from Auchroisk but also from other distilleries. More than 40 million litres of alcohol rest on site. Only about 10 per cent goes into malt bottling.

There is also a Diageo filling and blending unit at the distillery‘s site.

Diageo released in the Rare Malt Series a 28 year old bottling with 56,8% A.B.V. in 2003. Matured in American and European oak 5956 bottles of an Auchroisk 20 year old with 58,10% A.B.V. were bottled in 2010 in the Classic Malts Special Releases. A Manager‘s Choice single cask bottling was released in 2010. There are also bottlings by the independent bottlers like Cadenhead who released in the Authentic Collection 635 Sherry butt matured Auchroisk bottles in 2005.
