Longmorn the place of the holy man
Longmorn the place of the holy man
Longmorn Distillery started production in 1894 on the site of an medieval chapel. Four wash stills of 16.820 litres each and four spirit stills of 13.638 litres each produce about 3.500.000 litres of new make. There are some dunnage warehouses on site, but most of its production is tankered away to Keith or Mulben. Longmorn Single Malt is matured in Bourbon and Sherry casks. It contributes to the blend Chivas Regal.
In 2012 the distillery was refurbished and extended. A new mash house and tun room were built.
The productivity capacity was increased to 4.500.000 litres of new make spirit per year.
There is no public admittance.
